This time, I came to Beijing's North Third Ring Road to coordinate with the project. After a long selection, I finally finalized Grand Skylight Hotel Royal Beijing. Originally, I only wanted it to be conveniently located, close to the client's company, and provide a full process experience from entering to checking out after staying for three consecutive nights. However, I directly included it in my list of fixed stops for business trips in Beijing.
I dragged a suitcase filled with project materials to the store in the evening, and the doorman came up from afar to take the suitcase and led me all the way into the lobby. The warm yellow light is wrapped in a faint woody fragrance, without the pungent decoration smell of a new hotel, replaced by a calm texture that has been accumulated for many years. When checking in, the front desk noticed that I had been rushing for two consecutive days and specially upgraded me to a quiet room on a higher floor. They also reminded me that the room was equipped with memory cotton pillows, and if I wasn't used to it, I could contact the room at any time to switch to other styles. Even the nearby old-fashioned breakfast shops that didn't require queuing were marked on a sticky note.
The moment I opened the door, I was relieved of my tiredness. There was no redundant red net decoration in the space of 40 square meters. Light brown solid wood furniture matched with soft diffuse light. The french window beside the windows were facing the urban street view of the North Third Ring Road. In the evening, I could see the sunset of the distant skyline, and even the common smog days in Beijing could show some warmth. What impressed me the most was the bedding. The mattress was soft and hard enough to support my waist and neck, not so soft that it would sink into my waist, nor so hard that it would hurt my back. I walked tens of thousands of steps to clients for two consecutive days, and as soon as I lay down on the bed, the soreness and swelling slowly spread along my back throughout the day. Even someone like me who loves beds all year round slept soundly for three nights.
The thoughtfulness in the details can be seen everywhere: the independent office area by the window has a spacious desktop that can spread out three project plans at the same time, and the fast charging interface is evenly arranged along the edge of the desk. Computers, presenters, and phones can be charged simultaneously without having to pull wires and look for sockets everywhere. The hot water in the bathroom area comes out in seconds, and the water pressure is stable enough to flush away a tired body. The bath mat is thick and anti slip, with no safety hazards such as raised corners. There are free ironing machines and dehumidifiers hidden in the wardrobe. In the dry weather of Beijing, washed shirts can be dried and ironed out overnight, without the need to bring wrinkled formal clothes to customers.
The experience of breakfast was also far beyond expectations. It was not a perfunctory assembly line buffet. The local characteristics of freshly cooked old Beijing Zhajiangmian, coke rings and fermented sour milk made from ground mung bean wow gold were all matched, and even the aroma of freshly ground coffee could be wafted across half of the restaurants. After breakfast, go out for a morning meeting and walk along the recommended path by the hotel. It only takes ten minutes to get to the subway station, so you don't have to get stuck in the traffic on the North Third Ring Road.
I used to think that the old hotels on the North Third Ring Road would be a bit outdated, but after staying at Grand Skylight Hotel Royal Beijing this time, I realized that it didn't have flashy gimmicks, but had polished every detail that affected the happiness of accommodation.
